Our Mission Statement:
The mission of the school library program at Memorial Middle School is to assist all students in becoming active and creative locators, evaluators and users of information to solve problems and to satisfy their own curiosity. With these abilities, students can become independent, ethical lifelong learners and readers who achieve personal satisfaction and who contribute responsibly and productively to the community and society as a whole.
Sign In/Out:

All students coming to use the Library Media Center during the school day must have a pass from their teacher.​

Upon entering, if you are not with your entire class, you must sign in to the white binder on the table by the office, and sign out when you leave. If you need to use the rest room or go to your locker, use the clipboard to sign out and back in.

If you are just returning or renewing a book, you do not need to sign in.
Check Out Policies:

You may borrow 2 books at a time. Books will be loaned for a 2-week period.

You will not be allowed to check out materials if you have overdue books.

You may renew your library materials as often as necessary; you need to show your book to the librarian and you will get another two weeks.

Books can be returned at any time in the slot in the front desk. Do not leave returned books on top of the desk or anywhere else in the library because they may get put away without ever being checked back in.
Conduct:

Students are expected to maintain behavior that is appropriate to the academic environment of a library. No shouting, running, or throwing things. Do not disturb or distract other students who are studying or reading.

Please tidy up and clear all trash around you, return supplies to the desk or drawers where they belong, and push in your chairs. You may leave library books you are not checking out on the book cart, on the tables, or on one of the empty bottom shelves. Please do not re-shelve your books.

Be respectful and careful handling the books, equipment, and furniture in the library. When you check books out and take them home, keep them away from food and drinks or any place where they might get damaged.

Students are not allowed to eat and drink in the library without special permission.

The four pillars of PBSIS and all school rules apply the same as anywhere else.
